How we work
Editorial policy
Every page on MyStaq is built the same way: from human research, reviewed by a clinician, and independent of the brands we vet.
Who writes and reviews our content
MyStaq content is drafted by our team and reviewed before publication by a licensed physician. A page marked "Medically reviewed" has been read in full by that reviewer, who checks the claims, the sourcing and the safety guidance.
Current medical reviewer: Dr Zainab Ajmal, general physician, registered with the Delhi Medical Council (Reg. No. 116071).
Reviewed pages show the reviewer's name and a "Last reviewed" date. We re-review clinical pages at least every 12 months, and sooner when guidance changes.
What counts as evidence
We check every claim against human research. Animal and cell studies, and manufacturer marketing, are not enough on their own. Our primary sources are:
- National Institutes of Health, Office of Dietary Supplements
- National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, About Herbs
- Peer-reviewed journals
- Professional society guidance, including the Menopause Society
When evidence is mixed or limited, we say so on the page. Wherever we recommend an ingredient, we show how strong the evidence behind it is, and we tell you when the honest answer is to skip it.
How the interaction checker is built
Interaction records are compiled from the sources above and from published drug and supplement interaction literature. Every record shows its sources and a last-reviewed date, and we do not publish a record we cannot trace to one of them. The checker covers the pairs in our database, not every possible combination. It is an information tool, not a substitute for your pharmacist or prescriber.
Independence
We do not manufacture supplements and we have no house brand.
No brand can pay to appear in, or rank higher in, our recommendations, our ingredient library or our interaction checker.
Our shop lists products for you to review; direct purchasing is not available yet. Every product in our shop has passed the vetting process described on our How We Vet page, and a product that fails is excluded rather than ranked lower. Recommendations are based on the evidence and your answers, never on what a product would earn us.
There is no advertising on this site and we do not accept sponsorships. If we pay a creator to talk about MyStaq, they disclose it in the post, and they have no say in what we recommend.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help research, draft and check our content for consistency. Nothing is published without a person on our team editing it, and no clinical page is published without clinician review. The recommendations in our quizzes and interaction checker come from our own rules and records, written and reviewed by people, not generated on the fly.
Corrections and updates
If you find an error, write to contact@mystaqhealth.com. We look at every report, correct confirmed errors on the page and update its "Last reviewed" date. When clinical guidance changes, we update the affected pages and note what changed.
What MyStaq is not
MyStaq does not diagnose conditions and is not a substitute for your clinician or pharmacist. Supplements can interact with medications and with each other. Talk to a healthcare professional before starting, stopping or changing anything you take. What you enter in our quizzes and checker is covered by our Consumer Health Data Policy.
